Library Ground Breaking
December 02, 2008

A ground breaking was held on November 14th, 2008, for the new Sevier County Library.  The Library will be located on the former site of the A.J. King Lumber Company in the heart of the city, conveniently located near other municipal buildings and nearby schools.  The new Library will bear the name King Family Public Library and will feature a 41,000 square foot three story building.  The Library will include a large open Grand Reading Room, a Sevier County History Center, a Teen Cyber Cafe, and a Children's Area.  A two-acre site was donated by the King Family for the 10 million dollar facility to be completed in 2010.
